Over 30 years of leadership experience in the United States Army, leading organizations from 35 people to over 4,000, and culminating as a Brigadier General serving at the strategic and operational levels across the Department of Defense. José served as the Director of Operations, Plans, Training, and Exercises (G-3/5/7) at U.S. Army Central, where he directed operations for over 12,000 Soldiers across 147 units throughout the Middle East and Central Asia in support of U.S. Central Command. His career reflects a consistent ability to lead in complex, high-stakes environments—integrating joint, interagency, and multinational efforts to deliver results under pressure. He led large-scale humanitarian operations, including the delivery of over 20 million pounds of aid into Gaza, and drove force posture initiatives that generated over $600M in annual savings. His leadership philosophy was forged in these environments—centered on clarity, discipline, trust, and developing leaders who can think, decide, and act decisively in uncertainty.

Outside of his professional work, José is deeply committed to family, community, and service. He and his wife are proud parents, and he is especially passionate about supporting his son's independence and success as a young adult with autism—an experience that fuels his advocacy for neurodiversity, employment, and inclusive leadership. He is actively involved in veteran and community organizations in Texas, including the VFW, American Legion, and local civic groups. José enjoys speaking, mentoring, and writing on leadership, character, and resilience, and is currently developing a book centered on his 4R leadership philosophy. Whether through coaching, community engagement, or personal pursuits, he remains committed to helping others lead meaningful, impactful lives.
